Individual needs play a role in the diets we stick to, making the idea of a uniform approach to nutrition complicated. While we can’t eliminate personal variables, we can make sorting through nutrition tips easier by adopting principles that work for everyone. Here are five universal nutrition tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
1. Get a Blood Test
Since everyone has a unique biological disposition, determining the areas where you are nutritionally deficient is key to working towards improved health. After a proper blood test, you will be given paperwork that will outline areas for nutritional improvement. From here, you can speak with your doctor about making changes in your diet.
The area where you live may also clue you into specific vitamins and minerals you may be deficient in. For example, if you live in a cooler climate, you and those around you might lack adequate Vitamin D levels from less sunshine.
Consider how different factors (including your environment) play a role in your nutritional health and self-care routine. If you’re pregnant, you might want to look out for ways to take care of yourself during pregnancy that includes a blood test for your personal nutritional mapping.
2. Drink Enough Water
Like consuming enough good bacteria through probiotics, staying hydrated is essential to nutritional health. You need to drink enough water to help your body break down food, balance energy, perform proper digestion, and release hormones with balance.
When we don’t drink enough water, our body puts most energy into survival. By drinking more water and eating water-rich foods, we are helping our bodies carry out processes for better nutritional health. To help your body carry out these processes, you might also add gummy supplements to your diet. For instance, you might consider taking melatonin-infused gummies for better sleep.
3. Eat Your Veggies
Your mother was right. Eating your veggies is indeed super essential for achieving good health. Vegetables contain fiber and are also very rich in minerals. Your body needs minerals and fiber to achieve lasting health, so make sure to have at least one serving of greens with your dinner!
Vegetables also contain antioxidants which can help reduce inflammation in the body and shed excess water bloat, making you feel lighter and healthier all around. So it’s definitely one of the most important nutrition tips to take onboard.
4. Limit Caffeine Intake
Drinking too much coffee or caffeinated soda can deplete your body of nutrients and create a more acidic internal environment. You should strive for a balanced internal system of alkaline and acidic qualities for the best digestive potential possible.
After a cup or two of coffee in the morning, try to limit your consumption of caffeinated drinks by switching to coffee alternatives so that your body can get as much as possible from the nutrition you feed it each day.
5. Watch Your Sugar
Limiting the amount of refined sugar you consume will also contribute to how well your body absorbs and makes use of valuable nutrients. Sugar in large amounts offsets the balance of bacteria in the body, wreaking havoc on digestion and nutritional absorption.
