Do you want to revamp your guest room on a budget? Then keep reading for some sage advice.

Paint over paper
While it can look great, wallpaper can be hugely expensive, as well as frustrating and time-consuming to put up. That’s why it’s much better to always choose paint over wallpaper when you are redoing a room on a budget. Painting walls really doesn’t have to be a second-class option, though, as you can get some amazing effects with very simple uses of paint.
For example, why not consider painting a feature wall, a brighter or bolder colour, as this can change the entire feel of the space without the need for multiple tins of paint. Some people even choose to paint their guest room ceiling in this way. Although you do need to be mindful of the size and shape of the room when doing this, because smaller spaces can feel more confined if you use darker colours on the ceiling.
Choose budget flooring options
For a guestroom refresh on a budget, be sure to opt for cheaper flooring options. These may include laminate. Although it’s not the most comfortable option for those staying over at your home. Instead, you may wish to consider carpet, as this is nice and soft on the feet, and helps to retain heat in the room as well.
The good news is that there are some excellent value carpets to be bought online. Some even come with free fitting options, so there is no need to spend more money to make sure your carpet is professionally fitted and looks great.

Avoid brand-new furniture
Tempting as new furniture can be, if you are decorating your guest room on a budget, it’s best to avoid it wherever possible. Fortunately, there are lots of very viable ways of doing this, including upcycling pieces you already have. For example, a set of pine bedside tables can easily be painted with a lick of paint (choose chalk paint if they have been previously varnished).
Another option is buying secondhand pieces for your guest room. This can work well, as you’ll find plenty of bedroom sets available on pre-loved sites online. Facebook Marketplace is another great option, as many people offer these items for a bargain price as they replace them in their own homes, which means you can get great quality bedroom furniture without breaking the bank.
Last of all, you can change the look of furniture that you already have by adding new fixtures to items you already have. Even a very boring set of drawers can be transformed with new handles.
Don’t break the bank on finishing touches
Last of all, to stay on budget, you must remember your budget when arranging finishing touches. This means shopping for soft furnishing in budget stores and finding lighting that is not only effective but affordable as well.
It’s also smart to keep things like wall art and the frames you put them in simple. This is because simpler frames are always cheaper than more ornate ones, so wit ill keep costs low.
