Luxury Family Holiday Activities Everyone Should Try At Least Once

A luxury family holiday sounds like an absolute dream, doesn’t it? Taking your partner and the kids away on a trip of a lifetime, where you get to do whatever you fancy, with a spending budget you don’t have to worry about, and enough relaxing spa visits and dips in the pool as you like. What a week that would be!

This is a collaborative post

However, there’s not very many families out there who have the means to plan a holiday like this! A luxury holiday is something you have to scrimp and save for, and maybe even try to find a deal in a newspaper for good measure.

But that doesn’t mean you should never do anything luxurious whilst you’re away! There’s quite a few fun, luxury-level activities you can get up to on a normal family holiday. It might just take a bit more out of the budget than you’re used to, but it’ll certainly put a smile on the kids’ faces!

And with that in mind, here are the kinds of luxury family holiday activities you can get up to the next time you’re away. They’re good to try at least once, but don’t feel pressured to complete the list by any means!

Stay at a Child-Friendly Resort

Resort life is a great break away from the usual holiday antics. And if you’ve stayed in and around resorts before, you know just how much you like the amenities and the atmosphere. However, why not think about getting a luxury upgrade next time you book a stay?

Resorts often have child-friendly activities to try out, but when you’re a luxury traveler, all kinds of clubs, activities, and even gift bags and baskets will be on offer.

And when you’re in a resort, you sort of get waited on hand and foot! That means both you and the kids get the chance to spend your free time in any which way you like.

And yes, that could also mean you and your partner get some time to yourself, child-free, for at least a couple of hours! But don’t worry, the kids will be nearby having the time of their lives – and still under supervision. That’s what makes the holiday so luxurious!

Hire a Boat for the Day

Who doesn’t love getting to spend as much time swimming, paddling, and splashing about in the water as possible? If you’ve got kids who love going to the beach, you know they’d love getting the chance to actually go out onto the water for the day!

So, why not make it happen? It’s a bit of an expense, but we didn’t label this a luxury list for no reason!

Hiring out a day’s charter from a company like Prestige Yachts could be the luxury family activity that takes your holiday and elevates it to the next level! You get a boat to yourself, you can take whatever you want on board (in terms of food, things to do, water floats to play with, etc.), and you get the promise of peace and serenity of the ocean, river, or lake around you.

Of course, the idea of spending a day ‘at sea’ with the kids might worry you, but you can always go to swimming and water safety classes beforehand.

And don’t worry, you are unlikely to have to pilot the boat yourself either! There’ll always be someone experienced on board you can go to if you feel something is wrong or you need help.

Try Island Hopping

Following on from our boating idea above, you can also turn your mind to planning an island hop adventure for the whole family. If you like hot, sunny, and beachy places already, booking your group onto an island tour is a great way to spend the day.

And if you tend to holiday in the same spot, maybe around Greece or Thailand, then you now have a great excuse to see what else the area has to offer! There are plenty of little island groups out there, all reachable by a few minutes across the water.

And once you’ve got a boat to make use of, you can actually head around and see what these archipelagos are really made of. It’s a lot of fun, it can make sure you get a lot of sun, and it can really indulge the budding wanderlust of many young explorers!

Go on an Animal Experience

You don’t need to go on safari for this – although that would be an amazing thing to do! But no, you just need to visit a zoo whilst you’re on holiday and then see if they offer any animal meet and greet packages.

The price tag for these tends to reach luxury heights, and it’s not just anyone who can head in to hold a Koala or go to feeding time with the Tigers. And the kids will always remember just how fun and unique it was to be able to interact with genuinely wild animals.

Visit Santa!

Santa can be found all over the world, but if there’s one place we all tend to agree is where he really lives, it’s Lapland!

So, why not consider a couple days in Santa Claus Village?

Try a Bit of Luxury on Your Next Family Holiday

It can happen! And if you plan for one of the activities above now, you’ll give yourself more time to save some money and put a proper holiday itinerary together.

However, nothing else about your holiday needs to change; you just need to make room for a grand activity that you can surprise the family with!

Whether you want to get up close and personal with some exotic animals, or you fancy an island hop in the Mediterranean, or you want the kids to get the chance to see Santa’s homeland, go ahead!

You’ll always remember just how much fun (and how much you were able to relax!) whenever you think about the hint of luxury you sprinkled in.
