Framed Photos for Cherishing Sibling Memories: Unique Back to School Photography Ideas

We’ve all got them – that back-to-school photo of our children in their uniforms on the first day of term.

Whether they’re raring to go looking excited, or not so happy and nervous, a back-to-school photo is a cherished picture to keep of that memory.

This is a collaborative post with MyPicture.co.uk

But what do we do with them all? These days they stay on our phones, possibly even making it to a laptop, but they rarely get displayed. But with a framed photo it couldn’t be simpler to show them off.

I love having photos on my walls at home. To the point there aren’t many rooms in my house without photos – I even have a framed picture of my sons and nephews when they were all little in my en suite. Possibly a little excessive, I hear you cry! Oh and I’m sat writing this at my desk with at least 5 photos staring back at me…

But if you need some inspiration to get those back-to-school photos off your phone and on display, here are some ideas from mypicture.co.uk

Five ways to show off that back to school photo

Framed photo

It’s easy for me to tell you to print those photos, get them framed and put on the wall. But how many of us add this to the to do list and it just never gets done? It’s bottom of the list of priorities when you’re looking after children, working and running a household, right?

A framed photo is a great way to show off back to school pictures

And this is why a framed photo from mypicture.co.uk is so perfect – as it takes the hassle out of it. All you do is upload your photo straight from your phone or laptop, choose a frame, and they do the rest for you. No having to get the pictures printed separately, then trawl the shops to find a frame you like. It’s all done in one go and couldn’t be simpler!

You get a premium digital print of your photo, framed in a classically elegant gallery style with a pure-white mount behind acrylic glass. There are 5 frame designs so you’re sure to find something you love.

Canvas

If you like the frameless vibe, why not look at getting the back to school photo printed onto canvas? It can be printed in square, panoramic or landscape/portrait and there’s a choice of custom edge designs so you can personalise it.

You can even frame canvas pictures now for that extra special presentation. ‘Shadow’ or ‘floating’ frames leave a gap around the folded edges of the photo canvas so it all remains visible. Apparently this striking design is popular in modern art galleries!

Photo Books

If you’re not so keen on having pictures all around your house, but don’t want that back to school photo to be lost on your phone forever, how about compiling a photo book?

They might take a bit more effort, but they are so worth it, and are great to have to look back on in years to come. Why not put one together every year to show off what the kids got up to. Not only can it show the back to school photos, but also other school milestones such as sports days, class photos, nativities, and end of term activities. Or expand it to cover holidays, days out, family and friends.

If you don’t have the time to spend hours designing a photo book, then let mypicture.co.uk do it for you. They have a new QuickBook design system, powered by AI, that will do it for you in an instant. All you need to do is upload your photos, and they will be scanned, sorted, then beautifully arranged in seconds! You can make further edits if you like, and add text and extra photos, but this sounds like the ideal way to create a photo book if you’re short on time.

Photo Calendars

Something I do each year is create a photo calendar. Not as time consuming as a photo book, I then hang it on my wall so that I can display way more photos than I would with just a single frame – and different ones each month!

I organise photos into month albums on my phone from the previous year, and use those for each page of the calendar. So pictures from last January appear on the January page of the calendar. It’s a great way for the boys to look back and see what we did a year ago. And of course September always includes that back-to-school photo.

Unusual ideas to show off photos

If you’re looking for a more unusual way to display your photos, there are loads of other options. Have your pictures printed onto a mug, mouse mat, keyring or magnet. You can even have a puzzle or photo memory game made up from your own pictures – the kids would LOVE this!

In the past I’ve had photos printed onto cushions from a Christmas photo shoot of the boys. I then keep them with my decorations and bring them out each year to put on their beds with their Christmas bedding.

In fact, mypicture.co.uk can even make your very own personalised bed linen set with your pictures. Imagine that! They also do towels, blankets, tote bags, rugs and doormats. It seems you can print a photo onto a LOT of things.

So with all that in mind, don’t let that back to school photo (or any picture!) just sit on your phone to be forgotten about. With so many ideas of how to display them around your house, you’re spoilt for choice!
